A Slow Week, A Soft Reset
This week felt… long.
Every day somehow felt like a Thursday — except Thursday, which for some reason felt like a Wednesday. My brain was on a bit of a delay too; I kept forgetting things left and right like a goldfish with no long-term memory. It wasn’t a terrible week, just one that dragged its feet a little.
But there were bright spots.
I started a 3-week online Bible study with some people from church, and it’s been such a blessing already. Each session has been meaningful, and I genuinely feel like I’m learning more about God’s Word every time we meet. Two more weeks to go — and who knows what comes next after that?
The weather has taken a sharp turn into true winter temperatures. This week I finally pulled out an actual jacket, gloves, and a scarf because the wind felt like ice on my face. The upside? This is prime cozy-sweater season, and I’ve been living in my thickest, softest ones.
Speaking of cozy… I made a purchase that has genuinely made my entire week:

All around three years old, all adorable, and all full of potential. I’ve been wanting to add more life to my home, and these three felt like the perfect additions. They’re not too far from fruit-bearing age, so I’ll definitely keep everyone updated on how they grow.
Last night, I also did a full, deep clean of my house — I mean everything. I was up until 1 a.m. vacuuming, mopping, putting things away, and resetting every corner. The promise of waking up to a spotless home was too good to resist.
And honestly? Waking up this morning was amazing.
The kind of amazing that makes you sigh in relief and think: Ah, yes… I live here.
After my usual morning routine, I walked to my favorite little bread shop and picked up the softest bread and their heavenly strawberry whipped jam-butter. I grabbed a coffee, came home, and spent the afternoon planning the next steps of my life — things I want to accomplish between now and next year. Planning might seem exhausting to some people, but for me it’s comforting and exciting.
Now I’m ending my Saturday with an episode of New Girl, freshly cleaned floors, finished laundry, and two slices of strawberry-butter bread happily eaten. I might even grab some ice cream later. It’s Saturday — anything goes.

느리게, 길게 흘러간 한 주
이번 주는… 참 길게 느껴졌어요.
이상하게 매일이 목요일 같았고, 정작 목요일은 또 수요일 같은 느낌이었어요. 기억력도 금붕어처럼 사라졌다 나타나고… 자꾸 깜빡하고 놓치는 일들이 많았어요. 힘들었다기보단 그냥 질질 끌리는 한 주였달까요.
그래도 좋은 순간들이 있었어요.
교회 분들과 함께하는 3주짜리 온라인 성경 공부를 이번 주에 시작했는데, 생각보다 훨씬 은혜롭고 좋아요. 매 시간마다 배움이 있고, 하나님의 말씀을 더 깊게 알아가는 느낌이에요. 앞으로 2주 더 남았고, 그 다음엔 또 어떤 길이 열릴지 기대가 돼요.
날씨는 정말 확실히 겨울이에요. 이번 주엔 결국 두꺼운 자켓, 장갑, 목도리까지 꺼냈어요. 바람이 얼굴을 때릴 때 얼음처럼 차가웠거든요. 하지만 좋은 점도 있어요 — 두꺼운 포근한 스웨터들을 마음껏 입을 수 있는 계절이니까요.
그리고 이번 주 제일 설레던 소식…

세 녀석 모두 세 살 정도이고, 너무 귀엽고, 앞으로 열매 맺을 생각을 하면 더 설레요. 집에 생기를 더하고 싶다는 생각을 계속해 왔는데, 이 아이들이 딱 완벽한 선택이었어요. 앞으로 어떻게 자라고 변화할지 꼭 업데이트할게요.
어젯밤에는 집 전체를 대청소했어요. 정말 구석구석, 빠짐없이. 새벽 1시까지 청소기 돌리고, 물걸레질하고, 정리 정돈하고… 깨끗한 집에서 아침을 맞이하는 상상을 하니까 너무 유혹적이었거든요.
그리고 결과는… 아침이 정말 최고였어요.
“아… 내가 사는 곳이 이런 곳이구나” 하고 미소 나오는 그런 느낌.
아침 루틴을 마치고, 동네에 있는 작은 빵집에 걸어갔어요. 그곳은 제가 가장 좋아하는 빵집인데, 폭신하고 부드러운 빵과 천상의 맛을 가진 딸기 버터잼을 팔아요. 커피도 하나 사서 돌아와서, 올해와 내년에 이루고 싶은 목표와 계획들을 정리했어요. 다른 사람들에게는 피곤해 보일 수도 있지만, 저에게는 이런 준비 과정이 정말 재미있고 힘이 돼요.
그리고 지금은 깨끗한 집에서 *뉴걸(New Girl)*을 보며 하루를 마무리하고 있어요. 빨래도 끝났고, 바닥도 반짝이고, 딸기 버터 바른 빵 두 조각도 맛있게 먹었고… 이따가 아이스크림도 먹을지 고민 중이에요. 토요일 밤이니까 뭐든 가능하죠.
